Werewolf (not Nerf)

Also listed on the calendar are a few non-Nerf games such as Werewolf and Capture The Flag meetups. That's just because these are damn fun too.

Werewolf is a party game based off of "Mafia" which models a conflict between an informed minority (the werewolves) and an uninformed majority (the villagers). At the start of the game each player is secretly assigned a role affiliated with one of these teams, some of the players have additional powers/abilities. All players belong to the town, and only the werewolves know who the other werewolves are.

Trust no one

The game has two alternating phases: "night", during which the werewolves may covertly "murder" an villager (removing them from the game), and "day", in which surviving players (all of the people still alive in the town) debate the identities of the werewolves and vote to eliminate a suspect. Play continues until all of the werewolves has been eliminated, or until the werewolves outnumbers the innocents.

The game involves a great deal of psychology, reading people, social pressures and deduction.

The Bay Area has a monthly Werewolf meetup
